NEXT WAVE SYSTEMS, Success Stories

-Initiated off-site SSM Software Repository for all MSC SSM Software installs - August 9th, 2006–
NWS worked with NAVSEA Crane engineers and software installers to develop a functional and usable Configuration Management (CM) system for all software installations. The CM based system allows software installation teams to interact with repositories throughout the world.

-Remotely Controlled Improvised Ordinance Detonator (IOD)–
Provided engineering support for the Unmanned Remotely Controlled Improvised Ordinance Detonator (IOD) being developed by the Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane (NSWC). IOD is a remote control HMMWV which has a payload that delivers an electric current into the ground for the purpose of detonating improvised explosives. NWS provided rapid prototyping for a wireless controlled payload actuator. The NWS prototype provided on/off capability for a high voltage actuator, and a hydraulic rotator arm. All safety issues were addressed through local and remote emergency off capabilities with a built in lost link timer.

-Started Software Engineering Support for Military Sealift Command - March 1st, 2006–
NWS began a software engineering support role for the installation of the Shipboard Security Module (SSM) software onboard Military Sealift Command ships. The projected installation schedule includes over 90 vessels with varying configurations for each platform. NWS software support included on-site Crane presence and a rapid training period along with product installation support.
