RAID - GBOSS Demonstration - Crane (XSED) Division Article

NSWC Crane teamed with Next Wave Systems, Raytheon, and the Rapid Aerostat Initial Deployment (RAID) Product Office (RPO) to successfully demonstrate the first fully developed test of the Ground-Based Operational Surveillance System (GBOSS) to various high-level officers from the RPO, United States Marine Corps (USMC), and JIEDDO, among others. The test came just four and a half short months after NSWC Crane received the request to start work on GBOSS. The GBOSS is the USMC’s enhanced version of the Army’s RAID system, providing greater situational awareness and target recognition with the addition of multi-sensor and radar surveillance. NSWC Crane and Next Wave Systems led the development efforts for the GBOSS software, enhanced the software systems integration, integrated the software with the hardware on the existing RAID system, and assisted Raytheon with the debugging of both the hardware and software.
